Mid-Missouri Bank
Mid-Missouri Bank opened its new headquarters Oct. 8 at 1615 Independence St., just 100 yards south of its former operations center. The 21,000-square-foot, three-story center cost $4 million, according to a city building permit, and it features a full-service bank on the first floor. DeWitt & Associates Inc. was general contractor for the project designed by Buxton Kubik Dodd Design Collective. Bank spokesperson Andrew Moore said Mid-Missouri’s branch count is 13, after one closed in Joplin last month. Moore said Broc Losing leads a staff of seven as manager of the new Springfield branch. Mid-Missouri Bank has roughly $773 million in assets and loans of $550 million, according to bank officials, and local deposits were $332 million as of June 30, according to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.

Vintage Paris LLC
Hollister-based coffee shop Vintage Paris LLC moved Nov. 16 to expanded space at 7900 State Highway 165 from its longtime 260 Birdcage Walk home. Matt Farmer, who co-owns the business with wife Jessica, said Vintage Paris occupies a 2,400-square-foot space, up from its previous 1,700 square feet. Renovation and relocation costs were around $20,000, Farmer said, adding the couple is on a five-year lease with Kent Farrar for $1,750 per month. The Farmers bought Vintage Paris in 2012 and added a second store in December 2018, with the opening of Collective Coffee Shop inside Bloom Church, 2353 State Highway 248. Vintage Paris serves beer and wine in addition to coffee drinks. Farmer said baked goods, such as muffins and scones, are supplied by Walnut Shade-based Made in the Shade Bakery. He said Vintage Paris roasts its coffee in-house and is also a wholesale provider to several other coffee shops, including Kaffee Haus in Branson.

Jennings Barber Station
With a decade of experience in the barbershop industry, a first-time business owner launched Jennings Barber Station on Aug. 12 at 235 U.S. Highway 60 West in Republic. Trichelle Jennings co-owns the 800-square-foot shop in Plaza Southwest Center with mother Theresa Ricketson. Cory Jennings, Trichelle’s husband, said he is among the five-person staff at the barbershop, which had startup costs of around $20,000. He declined to disclose the three-year lease rate with Plaza Southwest LLC. Men’s haircuts range $10-$20, with children’s cuts for $14, according to its website. Hot shaves, beard trims and waxing services also are offered. The shop fills the space previously occupied by O-K Barber Shop when its owner, Mark Morris, decided to retire after 35 years in the industry, Cory Jennings said. He said his wife’s hair care experience includes working as an instructor at Academy of Hair Design Inc.
