An entrepreneurial married couple entered the beverage industry with the Nov. 13 opening of Fizz Sips n Sweets LLC. Tyler and Paige Fleetwood co-own the mobile soda venture stationed near Westlake Ace Hardware in Campbell Marketplace at 2336 S. Campbell Ave. Tyler Fleetwood said startup costs were roughly $42,000, adding they signed a $450 month-to-month lease with L & L Real Estate LLC. The six-employee shop’s menu includes gourmet and Red Bull-infused sodas with over a dozen flavors, such as orange, cinnamon and butterscotch, as well as cookies. Prices mostly range $4-$7.50. While current hours of operation are limited during the winter months, Fleetwood said they will expand as warmer weather arrives. He said the mobile shop also is available for events, including weddings, festivals and corporate meetings. The Fleetwoods also own White Stag Barber Co. LLC and digital media agency Fleetwood Media LLC.

Corwin Ford Lincoln Republic
Longtime family-owned Republic Ford Lincoln changed hands Dec. 6. The dealership, at 1740 U.S. Highway 60 in Republic, has been renamed Corwin Ford Lincoln Republic, said Jeff McConville, operating partner of Springfield-area operations for new owner Corwin Automotive Group. Former Republic Ford owners Bob and Susan Beine announced Dec. 3 in a Facebook post that they were exiting the automobile business they owned since 1984. Financial terms of the deal were undisclosed. McConville said the location was an attraction to Corwin Automotive Group, noting the company plans to add 10,000 square feet to the dealership’s current 50,000-square-foot space for a reconditioning facility and photo studio. Interior showroom upgrades also are in the works, he said. The dealership employs 70.

Firestone Complete Auto Care
Bridgestone Retail Operations LLC opened its fourth Springfield location for Firestone Complete Auto Care on Aug. 2 at the intersection of South Campbell Avenue and West Weaver Road. Bridgestone spokesperson Jackie Huser declined to disclose startup costs and lease terms with Brentwood, Tennessee-based GBT Realty Corp. Manager Donnie Gould leads the 10-person staff at the 316 W. Weaver Road shop. Round Rock, Texas-based Westport Group Inc. was general contractor for the 6,650-square-foot project designed by Tulsa, Oklahoma-based SGA Design Group PC. The shop offers auto repair and maintenance services, including alignment, brakes, batteries, oil changes and transmission work, and it sells a variety of tire brands. Firestone stores are operated by Nashville, Tennessee-based Firestone Tire and Rubber Co., a subsidiary of Tokyo-based Bridgestone Corp.
