Nonprofits receive $300K in grants from foundation

The Stanley & Elaine Ball Foundation on Friday issued nearly $300,000 in grants.

A total of $298,200 went to 25 recipients for the foundation's annual local nonprofit grant round, according to a news release. The foundation, which is managed by Central Trust Co., received 67 applications.

The grant recipients are listed in descending order and grouped in the amount received:
• Court Appointed Special Advocates of Southwest Missouri, $50,000;
• Kiwanis Foundation of Springfield South and Taneyhills Library Club, $25,000;
• Child Advocacy Center Inc., Good Samaritan Boys Ranch LLC and Life360 Community Services, $20,000;
• Foundation for Springfield Public Schools, $17,000;
• Boys & Girls Club of the Ozarks, Children’s Miracle Network at CoxHealth, I Pour Life, Ozarks Food Harvest Inc., Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Ozarks Inc. and Springfield Symphony Association, $10,000;
• Least of These and The Kitchen Inc., $7,500;
• Gift of Hope Inc., $7,000;
• The Victim Center Inc., $6,500;
• CoxHealth Foundation, Drury University, FosterAdopt Connect Inc., Missouri State University Foundation/MSU English Language Institute, Nixa Public Schools/John Thomas School of Discovery and Women in Need Inc. $5,000;
• Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield, $1,700; and
• Soroptimist Club of Springfield, $1,000.

The Ball Foundation was established in 2005 by former Branson Mayor Stanley Ball to help those less fortunate in the community.
