Matt Carey was appointed by the board of Legacy Capital to executive vice president and chief underwriter. With more than 28 years of banking experience, Carey earned his undergraduate degree from Cleveland State University.
Algerian Hart, assistant to the president for inclusive engagement at Missouri State University, was selected for the Arvest Opportunity Fund. Hart is serving a three-year term on the fund, a wholly owned, non-bank subsidiary of Arvest Bank.
Chambers of Commerce
The Rogersville Area Chamber of Commerce named Jacques DeMoss as executive director. With a bachelor’s degree in economics and business management from University of Louisiana-Lafayette and a Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University School of Law, DeMoss has nearly 15 years of executive leadership experience.
Economic Development
The Economic Development Partnership of Bolivar & Polk County hired Bradley Testerman as president and CEO. Testerman, who comes from Joplin, has more than 25 years of experience in sales, marketing and operations domestically and internationally. He most recently was president and chief operating officer for Neosho-based Marco Furniture Inc.
Engineering
Jerany Jackson, senior project manager for Great River Engineering Inc., was inducted into the Council of Fellows by the American Society of Landscape Architects. The fellow designation is among the highest honors bestowed by the ASLA, recognizing accomplishments in the industry.
Health Care
Citizens Memorial Hospital awarded its Daisy Award for Extraordinary Nurses to Cathy Bird Wallace. A registered nurse at CMH’s Ash Grove Healthcare Facility, Wallace was nominated for the award by a resident’s family member for her professional care.
Certified nursing assistant Monica Lunsford received CMH’s TULIP Award, recognizing thoughtful, unforgettable, lasting impact on patient care. Lunsford works at CMH’s Medical Surgical Department and was nominated by two employees for the award.
Law
The Springfield Police Department made three promotions impacting two sworn officers and one professional staff member. Law enforcement officers Nathan Davis and Brad Southard were promoted to corporal, and Wendy Gouty was elevated to investigative service specialist supervisor.
Marketing
O’Reilly Auto Parts won the Radio Marketer of the Year Award at the 2024 Radio Mercury Awards ceremony. The Springfield-based auto parts retailer’s well-known O’Reilly Auto Parts jingle is celebrating 25 years.
Media
Springfield Business Journal was presented with the Media Partner Frannie Award from Springfield Little Theatre. The award is part of SLT’s volunteer and partner appreciation honors.
Nonprofit
Nonprofit Good Dads Inc. honored four fathers as Outstanding Dads of the Year. The award recipients are David Anderson, school counselor at Willard North Elementary and father of three; Dan Carlson, sergeant with the Springfield Police Department and father of two; Herby Cody, a driver and father of three; and Nick Kueck, owner of Kueck’s Contracting LLC and father of three.
