Accounting
Austin Russo, a staff accountant at KPM CPAs & Advisors, earned his certified public accountant license from the Missouri State Board of Accountancy. Russo has a bachelor’s in accounting from Rockhurst University.

KPM CPAs & Advisors promoted Leslie Conklin and Hannah Montgomery to manager and Mykkah Buchanan and Emily Hopkins to supervisor. With eight years of accounting experience, Conklin has a bachelor’s in accounting from Missouri State University and a bachelor’s in communications from Drury University. With a bachelor’s in accounting and finance from Drury, Montgomery has more than eight years of accounting experience. Both Buchanan and Hopkins have bachelor’s degrees in accounting from MSU.

Banking & Finance
Jamie Hunt, vice president of human resources at Branson Bank, was selected to receive the HR Professional of the Year honor from the Branson Tri-Lakes Human Resources Association. The award recognizes HR professionals for their leadership and advancement of the profession.

Law
Michael O. Hendrickson joined the trial lawyer team at Ransin Injury Law. Hendrickson previously served as a judge for more than 18 years, including time as presiding judge of Missouri’s 30th Judicial Circuit. Hendrickson, who has his Juris Doctor from the University of Nebraska College of Law, also has served as a special assistant U.S. attorney, assistant Missouri attorney general and chief assistant Taney County prosecutor.

Mining
Erlen Group Materials, a provider of crushed limestone for the construction industry, promoted John Boatwright to director of aggregates. A member of Erlen Group subsidiary Westside Stone Co. for over six years, Boatwright now oversees all of the company’s mining operations. Boatwright is pursuing a bachelor’s in general business from Missouri State University to complement his existing associate in science and bachelor’s in animal science.

Nonprofit
The Association of Fundraising Professionals Ozarks Region Chapter presented several awards during its National Philanthropy Day ceremony. AFP winners were: Ball of the Wild by Friends of the Zoo, Outstanding Fundraising Campaign or Event of the Year; Amy Jardell of Ozarks Literacy Council, Outstanding Fundraising Professional of the Year; Carl Peterson of Harmony House, Fundraising Rising Star of the Year; Volt Credit Union, Outstanding Philanthropic Business or Organization of the Year; CoxHealth Foundation, Outstanding Philanthropic Foundation; Jon Risdal, Outstanding Philanthropist of the Year; and Abby Glenn of Central Bank, Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser of the Year.

The Humanitarian Award, a partnership between Community Foundation of the Ozarks Inc. and the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce, went to Sheila Michaels at the AFP’s National Philanthropy Day event. Michaels, director of the BookBag program and former school librarian, is the 39th person to receive the award.

At AFP’s National Philanthropy Day, the Ozarks Health Advocacy Foundation presented the Child Advocate of the Year award to Rana Post. She’s a child life coordinator at CoxHealth.

Ozarks Food Harvest Inc. received its 13th consecutive four-star rating from nonprofit evaluator Charity Navigator. Charity Navigator’s rating system is based on accountability and finance, culture and community, impact and results, and leadership and adaptability.
