Education
Old Missouri Bank hired Karl Brown as marketing manager over the department’s strategic initiatives and innovations. He most recently handled email marketing and advertising for Herschend Family Entertainment Corp., starting in 2016.

KPM CPAs PC hired Melissa Manley as administrative assistant and Cristin McCoy as staff accountant. Manley previously served as chief deputy collector in Howell County and as an accounting specialist for DairiConcepts LP. McCoy, the former corporate controller for Noble Communications, provides audit services in a variety of industries.

Education
Drury University appointed Troy Peterson as director of the new athletic band program. With 31 years of experience as a public high school band director, he has worked as director of bands at Kickapoo High School since 1991. Peterson is scheduled to start in the Drury position full time on June 1, and he’ll be responsible for a marching band, parade band and color guard.

Health Care
Dr. Mark Smith, family medicine physician with Ash Grove Family Medical Center and El Dorado Springs Medical Center, earned board certification by the American Board of Family Medicine. He completed 150 credits of continuing medical education, met guidelines for professionalism, licensure and personal conduct, and passed the family medicine certification examination.

Citizens Memorial Hospital promoted Michael Calhoun to chief operating officer from administrative director of clinics and Sarah Hanak to chief nursing officer from director of hospital nursing services. Calhoun has 20 years’ experience at CMH and succeeds Jeff Miller, who transitioned to administrator of Colonial Springs Healthcare Center in Buffalo. Hanak succeeds Lesa Stock, who moved to CMH’s director of medical staff services.

CMH Foundation promoted Beverly Derrickson to the newly created position of chief operating officer and named Michael Galindo as director of finance. Derrickson, formerly the foundation’s administrative director of home care services, has 32 years of health care experience. Galindo, who joined CMH in September 2019 and succeeds Renee Meyer, previously worked as a senior financial analyst and service line coordinator of neurosciences for CoxHealth.

Hospitality
Silver Dollar City earned the Golden Plate Icon Award at the Southwest Missouri Restaurant Association Golden Fork Awards. Honorees are individuals or organizations with superior business ethics, leadership of a successful operation over at least two decades and proven substantial contributions to the community.

Real Estate
Missouri State University named Affiniti Management Services Inc. as the Best Apartment Management Company and MORe Student Living, which is managed by Affiniti Management Services, as the Best Apartments for Students.

The Springfield Apartment & Housing Association named Kristi McGuinness, Affiniti Management Services’ community manager, as Manager of the Year in southwest Missouri and Danielle Stoll, Affiniti Management Services’ assistant community manager, as Leasing Person of the Year. 

Coryell Collaborative Group named Angela Frizell as marketing director. She leads the strategic marketing plan and creative team as the company begins to develop outside of the Springfield area.
