Newsmakers: Aug. 5-11, 2019

Architecture
H Design Group LLC added Kate Whitaker as a designer. She has a master of architecture from University of Memphis and experience with small town and urban architecture in health care and campus planning.

Construction
Branco Enterprises Inc. was named a finalist in the Keystone Awards from the Associated General Contractors of Missouri for the second consecutive year. The project selected was an aquatic center in Sibley, Iowa. Honoring construction firms and employees for facilities that support and enhance quality of life, the award winners will be announced in November at the AGC’s annual state banquet in St. Louis.

Education
Missouri State University recognized alumnus Brian Inman among the 2019 Bears of Distinction as Volunteer of the Year. He was recognized for working with the Hospitality Leadership Wine Tasting and Action Committee’s Wine Tasting Event, which has raised $100,000 the last seven years for student scholarships, as well as the Advisory Board Speaker Series.

Government
The city of Branson hired John Manning as assistant city administrator. He’s had a career in the Army, holding positions of military police officer and strategic plans and policy officer, and achieving the rank of colonel. Manning fills a job in Branson that’s been vacant since Frank Schoneboom resigned in 2008.

The Greene County Democratic Central Committee elected Tyler Gunlock as treasurer. He succeeds Mike Miller, who resigned. Gunlock, a cattle farmer from the Ash Grove area, is completing the remainder of Miller’s term ending August 2020 and will be eligible for re-election.

Health Care
Loehr Chiropractic & Acupuncture LLC added Jodi Childress Bowman as director of administration. She most recently served as administrator at the law firm of Aleshire Robb & Rapp and is a certified professional paralegal. Bowman aids the team with customer services and patient experiences.

Citizens Memorial Hospital appointed Drs. Craig Dunseth and Kristin Robidou to the medical staff. Dunseth, a pathologist, joins CMH Pathology Services, and Robidou, a physician specializing in family medicine and obstetrics, joins the Stockton Family Medical Center.

Nonprofit
The Branson Regional Arts Council added Roger and Karen Bergford as vocal instructors. With 30 years of experience teaching private and group vocal lessons, the Bergfords work in the BRAC’s Conservatory of the Arts program at the Historic Owen Theatre.

Paul Reinert was installed as 2019-20 district governor for Rotary District 6080, which includes 50 Rotary clubs and 3,000 members in southwest and central Missouri. He works with the clubs to carry out humanitarian projects addressing issues such as poverty, health, hunger, education and the environment. Reinert has been a member of the Rotary Club of Springfield Downtown since 2002.

First and Calvary Presbyterian Church hired Tyler Heckman as director of traditional music. A recent graduate of Missouri State University with a master’s in choral conducting, Heckman is in charge of the chancel, youth and children’s choirs.

Russell Cellular Inc. promoted Daniel Hyder to executive vice president of sales, a first for the company. Previously an area vice president of sales, he has worked with Russell Cellular for 10 years and started as a regional sales manager.
