Accounting
KPM CPAs & Advisors staff accountant Sarah Lee completed the certified public accounting examination and earned her CPA license from the American Institute of CPAs. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from Missouri State University.

FORVIS LLP promoted Annie Brady, Tyler Collins, Caleb Evans, Taylor Good and Camille Wilmes to senior associates. Members of the Springfield tax team, Brady holds a bachelor’s in accounting from MSU, and Evans holds a bachelor’s in accounting from Southwest Baptist University. Collins is a member of the Springfield tax and outsourced accounting services team, and he holds a bachelor’s in accounting from MSU. Good and Wilmes are members of the Springfield audit team; Good holds a bachelor’s in accounting and finance from Evangel University, and Wilmes holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accountancy from MSU.

 Education
Robert Stricklin, executive chef of The Keeter Center and an assistant professor of hospitality management at College of the Ozarks, earned the 2022 Idaho Potato Commission Postsecondary Educator of the Year Award. The commission, along with the Center for the Advancement of Foodservice Education, chose him as an instructor that engages students, leads by example and sets a tone of academic excellence.

College of the Ozarks’ broadcast newsroom The Point received 12 awards in nine categories in the Mid-America National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences’ 2022 Student Production Awards. Five awards were the top honors in their categories and seven were honorable mentions. The competition was open to colleges and universities in Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Arkansas and Louisiana, and it’s the sixth year in a row C of O was awarded.

Government
Greene County Clerk Shane Schoeller was one of three named a 2022 Sunshine Hero by the Missouri Sunshine Coalition. The awards recognize those who have used the Sunshine Law to gain access to public meetings and records, working to preserve and improve the law, and encouraging greater government transparency. Other honorees are Jason Maki, of Platte County, and The Missouri Independent nonprofit news service in Jefferson City.

Health Care
Dr. Allie Dunton joined Parkcrest Dental Group as a dentist, trained in general dentistry, oral surgery, implants, Botox and IV sedation. She holds a bachelor’s in biology from Evangel and a doctorate in dental surgery from University of Missouri-Kansas City. Dunton also completed a general practice residency at University Health Lakewood Medical Center in Kansas City.

Nonprofit
United Way of the Ozarks appointed Gary Gibson, president and CEO at City Utilities of Springfield, and Morey Mechlin, community volunteer, as 2022 campaign co-chairs. They’re joined by a cabinet of 25 volunteers.  

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks was recognized as a 2021 Quality Award Winner by Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. Recognizing excellence in the organization’s 1-to-1 youth mentoring program, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks was among 53 organizations honored out of 230 BBBS agencies nationwide.

Erin Washburn joined FosterAdopt Connect as the youth outreach center director. She’s responsible for opening a Youth Connect Center downtown in September.

Kingsley Group Business Brokers added Ryan Baker to its team of business intermediaries. He has 20 years of small-business management and ownership experience, most recently as owner of Midwest Timber Supply.
