New warehousing service aims to prevents package theft in Branson area

Posted online

A package receiving warehouse service in Hollister is now available for small-business use.

Branson Warehousing LLC, which began taking clients this spring, offers package receiving, warehouse and storage services. It can assist any business, officials say, but is tailored for interior designers, homebuilders, remodelers and vacation rental property owners. Co-owner Holly Jones said package theft and damaged goods are common issues for businesses that do not always have someone receiving important deliveries.

“There are so many logistical things that have to happen in order to get the product to the right place and keep it safe until that person is ready for it,” said Jones.

The 1,200-square-foot warehouse also provides longer-term storage for small businesses. Jones said she realized the need for package storage while running Branson Upstaging, an interior design firm which shares its space with the warehouse.

“I realized this would be a good service to provide because I looked for it myself,” she said. “I ran out of office space, and I needed a place to send products and to hold them until I was ready to put them in.”

Through word of mouth, Jones has obtained five clients, building off Branson Upstaging with $15,000 in startup costs for the new warehouse service. She said she uses shelving to maximize the warehouse space.

Branson Warehousing allows businesses to ship goods directly to the warehouse, which is open for package pickup 24/7 through the business’s camera monitoring and delivery system. Charging month-to-month with no contracts, Jones said, Branson Warehousing requires businesses to give a timeline for when they will pick up their items.

Jones said the service has proven to be helpful for investors based in other states, such as clients in Nashville, Tennesse, who don’t want their shipments sitting on vacant porches. This has also helped local clients who are out of town.

Bill Beck, a real estate agent with EXP Realty LLC, uses Branson Warehousing and said the service is convenient for vacation rental properties because of the city’s large tourism industry. Beck said he’s stored furniture at the warehouse.

“I’m currently in northern Wisconsin, and I’m getting notifications of couches and mattresses and other things being delivered,” Beck said. “I’m not at all worried about it being taken care of.”

Jones said a delivery service is something they may offer in the future. She also said the service is not just provided to businesses but can also help individuals who need packages kept safe or storage space.

“Once they click the buy button, they really don’t have to worry about the product again until they’re ready to pick it up,” she said. “They can free up their time and mind to focus on other projects.”
