Mudhouse to open Ozark shop

Posted online

Downtown Springfield staple Mudhouse Coffee is expanding to the neighboring city of Ozark.

Co-owner Rob Weislocher said a March opening date is targeted at a new shopping center that's under construction at 5146 N. 22nd St.

"We chose Ozark because we think it’s an underserved area," Weislocher said. "We also think that part of town is seeing a lot of growth."

Estes Capital & Investment LLC is the developer behind the shopping center called Station II Plaza, located at the site of the former Ozark Fire Station II, said Kyle Estes, owner/broker of the company. The developer chose to name the 5,500-square-foot development after the former fire station.

Estes said Mudhouse has leased the east 2,500 square feet of the building. That half features a drive-thru, and the coffeehouse will offer the first brick-and-mortar drive-thru coffee shop in the city, he said. Two additional 1,500-square-foot spaces are available for lease through Estes Stancer Commercial Group LLC, with lease prices ranging from $20 to $24 per square foot via a triple-net lease agreement, Estes said.

The shopping center is slated for completion March 1.
