MU Health Care to drop Anthem Medicare Advantage plans

Posted online

University of Missouri Health Care announced it would drop Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield Medicare Advantage plans starting April 1.

MU Health Care officials say negotiations have stalled with Anthem over issues involving patient access, administrative requirements and reimbursement rates. MU Health Care is seeking an increase in reimbursement rights, among other measures.

"Anthem Medicare Advantage members currently receiving care with MU Health will be contacted soon with options, including continuity of care at MU Health or access to alternative in-network care providers in Columbia and throughout Missouri," Anthem officials said in a statement.
