Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris is the second-wealthiest person in Missouri, according to the annual Forbes 400 list of the wealthiest Americans.
With an estimated net worth of $6.9 billion, Morris, 73, ranked No. 134 on the list released this week. That's up from his No. 181 spot on the 2020 Forbes 400, which estimated his net worth at $4.1 billion, according to past reporting.
Only Cargill shareholder Pauline MacMillan Keinath topped Morris in Missouri. Keinath, 87, ranked No. 106 with an estimated net worth of $8.2 billion.
Morris' Forbes profile estimates Bass Pro’s sales at $6.5 billion annually. Last month, he was inducted into the Hall of Famous Missourians at the Missouri State Capitol.

Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon.com Inc. (Nasdaq: AMZN), again ranked No. 1 on the Forbes 400, with an estimated net worth of $201 billion. He's followed by Tesla's Elon Musk, at $190.5 billion, and Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg, at $134.5 billion.
