The Show Me State's unemployment rate ticked up in July, according to the latest data from the Missouri Economic Research and Information Center.
The state's jobless rate last month was 3.8%, up from a revised June rate of 3.7%, according to a news release. The data is seasonally adjusted.
"Missouri's unemployment rate has been at or below the national rate for more than nine years," officials said in the release, pointing to a U.S. unemployment rate of 4.3% in July.
Missouri's nonfarm payroll ranks were down by 22,400 jobs from a downwardly revised June, officials say.
Goods-producing industries dropped by 6,100 jobs in July, including a decrease of 4,600 jobs in manufacturing. Leisure and hospitality, up 1,200, and professional and business services, up 1,000, were among offsetting industries.
