Mercy officials today cut the ribbon on a $27 million clinic in Bolivar.
The 43,000-square-foot multispecialty clinic, located at 3817 S. Springfield Ave. near the intersection of highways 13 and 83 in Bolivar, provides primary and urgent care, as well as specialty services such as behavioral health, cardiology, pain management and virtual care, according to a news release.
Mercy spokeswoman Sonya Kullmann said the clinic opens to patients on Oct. 7. Construction accounted for $22 million of the project cost, with equipment purchases making up the remainder, she said.
Larry Snyder and Co. served as general contractor for the project developed by Pitt Development Group LLC. Mercy is partnering with Springfield businessman Doug Pitt’s company on a handful of projects, including a $5.8 million family medicine clinic at 2716 W. Republic Road.
In Mercy’s Economic Impact Awards profile this summer for Springfield Business Journal, Dr. Robert Cavagnol, president of Mercy Clinic Springfield, said the Bolivar location is a significant expansion of care in the market.
“There’s been a demand in that community for Mercy services,” he said at the time. “They would like to receive those services closer to home.”
The Lamar Johnson Collaborative LLC, formerly BatesForum LLC, designed the project. Crews broke ground in fall 2017, according to past SBJ reporting.
