Manufacturer plans $5M plant in Buffalo

Posted online

The Durham Co., a Lebanon-based manufacturer of electric products, is investing in Buffalo to the tune of $5 million.

The company intends to build a 45,000-square-foot electrical utility distribution equipment manufacturing facility, according to a news release. The plans come with more than 50 new jobs in the community northeast of Springfield.

“We are looking forward to working with the city of Buffalo, the Dallas County R-I School District, Dallas County and Missouri Department of Economic Development to provide good, high-paying and stable jobs into this area," said G.T. Carr, CEO of The Durham Co., in the release. "As we develop our plans to meet future opportunities, we believe this will be the right place to be.”

Officials said the project would be completed in multiple phases over the next several years, with potential future expansion.

The Durham Co. is receiving state incentives via Missouri Works, which gives companies withholdings or tax credits for job creation, according to the release.

In addition to its Lebanon headquarters, The Durham Co.’s website lists two facilities in Houston, Missouri, as well as an affiliation with L&W Industries in Springfield.
