Andrea Sitzes, a local Arvest Bank executive, was appointed as an officer of a statewide economic development group.

Sitzes on July 1 became secretary of the Missouri Economic Development Council's executive committee, according to a news release. Through her five-year term as an officer, she'll progress to the roles of treasurer, vice president, president and past president.

"Finance is a vital role in economic development," Sitzes said in the release. "I am honored that the members of the Missouri Economic Development Council recognize that contribution and elected me to serve as secretary for the organization."

The statewide MEDC nonprofit advocates for Missouri economic development through program initiatives and alliances with similar groups. The organization's website lists around 230 members.

The former president and CEO of the Show Me Christian County economic development organization, Sitzes was hired last year by Arvest as market executive and vice president, according to past reporting.
