Dear editor,
As a nonpartisan political action committee, United Springfield is dedicated to supporting candidates who unite our children, citizens and community. After careful consideration and interviews conducted by our steering committee members in December and January, we are proud to endorse the following candidates for the upcoming elections: Jeff Schrag for mayor, Heather Hardinger for General Seat A, Matt Simpson for Zone 4, Monica Horton for Zone 1 and Craig Hosmer for General Seat B.
Our decision was based on a rigorous evaluation process where each candidate was asked the same set of questions. We believe that these individuals embody the values that United Springfield stands for: unity, collaboration, independence and a future-driven vision for our community.
The steering committee, co-chaired by Jim Anderson and Terri McQueary, along with members Alexis Childs, Orin Cummings, Steve Edwards, Emily Givens, Jay Guffey, Jeff Johnson, Mark Powell, David Ross, Debbie Shantz-Hart, Carol Taylor and Claire Whitlock, is confident that these candidates will work diligently to enhance our community and support the needs of all Springfield residents.
We encourage our fellow citizens to engage in the electoral process and consider the importance of choosing leaders who prioritize the betterment of Springfield. Together, we can build a brighter future for our children and our community.
