Springfield-based Legacy Bank & Trust Co. is buying a branch in Sparta, and officials say they’ll relocate an existing operation in the Christian County town.
The company signed an agreement to acquire a bank branch currently occupied by Stockmens Bank at 7164 State Highway 14, according to a news release, which did not disclose the financial terms. The real estate purchase is slated to close Nov. 30.
The branch will replace another operated by Legacy Bank at 7509 State Highway 14 East.
“We are very excited about the opportunity to purchase, remodel and move our team to this branch as we continue to serve the Sparta community,” said Jeremy Loftin, Legacy Bank's chief operations officer, in the release.
The relocation is expected in early 2022.
Legacy operates five branches, including the Sparta location and two in Springfield, according to its website.
The company added a branch at 3250 E. Sunshine St. with the opening of its new $8 million corporate headquarters last month, Springfield Business Journal previously reported.
In Rogersville, Legacy sold a building last month to Southern Bank, according to past reporting.
Utah-based gourmet cookie chain Crumbl Cookies opened its first Springfield shop; interior design business Branson Upstaging LLC relocated; and Lauren Ashley Dance Center LLC added a second location.
