CNN is making layoffs as it expands its digital businesses.
CNN CEO Mark Thompson said in a memo to staff that around 100 roles would be cut. That's nearly 3% of CNN's workforce.
Thompson said CNN would launch new digital products, including a subscription offering, and make a “strategic push into AI.”
