Larry Snyder & Co. last week rolled out a name change.

The more than 40-year-old company is now operating as Snyder Construction Group, according to a news release.

"This rebranding strategy reflects both the evolution of the company as well as its vision for the future, while acknowledging its history," President Dusty Emmert said in the release.

Larry Snyder founded the company in 1978. By the early 2010s, he was no longer involved in the day-to-day operations of the business as he put more of a focus on community involvement, according to Springfield Business Journal archives. He's listed as a member of the Ozarks Technical Community College Board of Trustees, and according to his board profile, he's active with the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce.

Along with the name change, Snyder Construction Group launched a new website designed by Mostly Serious LLC, as well as a logo, according to the release.

"One of the goals of the name change was to create a new brand identity, which will serve as a catalyst to grow recognition of the company," officials said in the release.

Snyder Construction Group recently completed the $13 million WonderWorks indoor amusement park in Branson, and ongoing projects include the multimillion-dollar BigShots Golf franchise development in north Springfield and the $14 million Innovative Dental clinic.

Snyder Construction Group ranked No. 2 on SBJ's 2019 list of the area's largest commercial general contractors, based on billings. For the list published in November, the company reported $65 million in 2018 billings, a project backlog of $65 million and 48 local employees.
