Mary Kromrey, former executive director of Ozark Greenways Inc., has been hired by Springfield-based engineering firm Own Inc.
Kromrey has been named as the firm's Springfield office leader, effective June 24, according to a news release. She succeeds Jared Davis, who was promoted in January to land development division leader.
In her new role, Kromrey will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Springfield office and build relationships with clients, among other duties.
"Mary’s positive energy and passion for community makes her the perfect person to continue building a culture of fun and inclusivity at our Springfield office," said Jerrod Hogan, CEO of Own, in the release. “Her ideals and values as a long-time community servant fit so well with Own and our purpose of building futures for our team, our partners and our communities. We are so lucky to have her on our team."
Own's website lists 13 offices, including the Springfield headquarters. The company, which serves industries including health care, education, hospitality and sports, rebranded from Anderson Engineering Inc. last year.
Own ranked No. 7 on Springfield Business Journal's 2023 list of the area's largest engineering firms. The company reported 13 engineers and engineers in training, 10 registered engineers and 72 local staff members for the list published in July 2023. Own also disclosed companywide revenue of $27.7 million for the SBJ list.
Ozark Greenways announced Kromrey's exit last month after she led the nonprofit for seven years. Frisco Highline Trails Manager John Montgomery was appointed interim executive director, effective June 14.
"I am excited to join Own and lead the Springfield office," Kromrey said in the release. "I look forward to developing relationships with this talented team of owners and continuing to serve the Springfield community that I care so deeply about."
