Kansas City nursing home Kingswood Senior Living Community filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
The legal action came after Kingswood defaulted on $51.8 million in city bonds.
Kingswood officials in the bankruptcy filing cited construction delays, “inadequate supervision by Kingswood’s then existing management company, postponement of marketing needed to increase occupancy and decreased capability to attract new residents as a consequence of the pandemic.”
