Jackson Brothers of the South: Vending Changes Rapidly With the Times

Posted online

Jackson Brothers of the South turns 21 this year. The multi-faceted vending company continues to grow with sales climbing over 10 percent in 2018. Growth came from all four divisions of the company:

• micromarkets • vending • coffee services • catering

New acquisitions and developments in vending and technology have continued the company’s growth. The advent of single serving coffee pods has given consumers more choice and Jackson Brothers now offers pod brewers in their micromarkets so people can select flavored coffee or tea. Friendly to the environment, the pods, cups, and utensils are all biodegradable.

Another new offering is bean to cup machines that grind the beans to order. “Much like you’d experience at a coffee shop where they grind the beans right in front of you, we can provide a coffee shop experience through vending,” says Darwin Bickford, CEO.

Jackson Brothers recently purchased a LaRue Roasterie coffee route. LaRue adds another brand choice for its coffee customers.

January 2019 begins the third year that Infused Catering has been a part of Jackson Brothers of the South. “It’s a growing part of our company,” says Bickford. “Chef Jill Barron can feed from 15 to 1,500 with customized menus. We can go from white tablecloths at a wedding to checkered tablecloths at a barbeque and anything in between.”

Jackson Brothers also makes it a priority to stay on top of changing technology. There’s an app for nearly everything these days and vending is no exception. “We’re now able to provide our micromarket experience through a phone app,” says Bickford. “It just brings the whole buying experience to a different level.” Customers can choose what they want from the micromarket and pay through the app.

“We have the diversity to provide all these different services to our clients,” says Bickford. “But quality you can see, freshness you can taste, service you can trust will always be our motto.”
