Industry vets launch new IT company in Springfield

Posted online

Two industry veterans have teamed up to open a new information technology business in the Queen City.

Brandon McClure and Tyson Petty have launched Mammoth Technology, a managed IT service provider, according to a news release issued yesterday. McClure and Petty created Mammoth Technology in November 2023 and registered the business with the Missouri Secretary of State’s office in January.

“I’ve got clients that can’t hire an IT person or hire them on staff,” Petty said in an interview this morning. “That’s what we try to do — bring them big expertise and years of experience. It really helps them grow and have a big IT resource without paying big IT costs.”

In its release, Mammoth Technology said it hopes to fill gaps in the industry. It adds that managed IT support in the small and midsize business sector has become old-fashioned and could use a fresh start. The service provider hopes to refresh the industry through a “new focus,” the release states, adding it is committed to providing services tailored for efficiency, enhancing security and driving sustainable business growth.

“We’re trying to turn IT into a growth model and help companies,” Petty said. “It’s using that technology to grow people instead of being a cost center. A lot of people feel like IT is just a cost and not a profit.”

McClure and Petty have worked in the southwest Missouri tech industry for years, with business ventures including Petty’s 30 years of experience and HyJax Power, a mobile device charger that can be used for vehicles, and McClure’s two decades of experience in business technology solutions.
