The Springfield-Greene County Health Department promoted 17-year employee Rinda Davis to assistant director.
Davis starts today in her new role after working four years as nurse coordinator for the Health Department's at-risk prenatal and special-care infant program, dubbed the Nest Partnership, according to a news release.
“I want to bring a nursing lens to the leadership team,” Davis said in the release. “The goal of my work has always been to give people the chance to live happy and productive lives. My experience as a nurse, passion for preventative health, and focus on collaboration are strengths I have to offer the department and community.”
Davis is one of two assistant directors of health, the other being Jon Mooney. Former Assistant Director Katie Towns was named the Health Department's director in July.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Davis served as liaison for the contact tracing team before transitioning to coordinator of nursing services at the department's mass vaccination clinic in January, according to the release.
