Handful of local companies make Newsweek list of best workplaces

Posted online

Five companies based in the Springfield area are among 1,500 businesses named by Newsweek in a recently released list of the best workplaces in the United States.

Jack Henry & Associates Inc. (Nasdaq: JKHY), Leggett & Platt Inc. (NYSE: LEG), CoxHealth, Hamra Enterprises LLC and Phoenix Home Care & Hospice are included in the America's Greatest Workplaces list. Companies are ranked out of a possible five stars based on a survey conducted by Newsweek and Plant-A Insights Group LLC, with topics including compensation and benefits, training and career progression, work-life balance and company culture.

Monett-based financial software company Jack Henry and Carthage-based manufacturer Leggett & Platt both scored five stars, the most among the local companies on the list.

Picking up 4.5 stars were CoxHealth and Hamra Enterprises, and Phoenix Home Care & Hospice scored 4 stars.

"The companies featured here show that, even in the face of waning enthusiasm among much of the workforce, it is still possible to create a great environment that facilitates engagement," Newsweek officials said in the release.
