GO CAPS adds board members

Posted online

The Greater Ozarks Centers for Advanced Professional Studies this week is introducing two new board members.

Mike Henry, superintendent of Marshfield Public Schools, and Jeffrey Phillips, general manager at Paul Mueller Co. (OTC: MUEL), are slated to officially become members at the board's Aug. 18 meeting, said Karen Kunkel, GO CAPS Coordinator. They'll serve three-year terms.

David Steward, who recently retired as Marshfield's superintendent and took a job as director of professional development with Penmac Staffing Services Inc., is exiting the board, as is Krisi Schell, executive vice president of human resources for Springfield ReManufacturing Corp., said Kunkel.

Henry and Phillips join a 12-member GO CAPS board responsible for governing the organization that provides high school students with hands-on learning opportunities at area businesses.

During the fiscal 2020-21 academic year, the Springfield GO CAPS program served 124 students, said Kunkel.
