Gannett Co. Inc. agreed to sell 20 local newspapers to CherryRoad Media Inc.
The newspapers in the deal are located in Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa and Missouri. The Springfield News-Leader is not part of the deal.
Missouri papers in the acquisition include the Chillicothe Constitution-Tribune and the Independence Examiner.
