Project description: White River Marine Group continues the expansion of its Bolivar operation with the construction of a 1,500-square-foot rigging and shipping building. The modest dimensions of the building are a mere fraction of those in the 101,000-square-foot factory opened in March by the fishing and recreational boat manufacturing division of Bass Pro Shops, which produces Tracker boats in the former warehouse it purchased in Bolivar the previous year. The rigging and shipping building will provide a place for outfitting pontoon boats, according to officials with the Economic Development Alliance for Bolivar and Polk County. Rigging can include installation of an outboard motor and other engine control systems, as well as custom fishing features requested by the buyer. Tracker first opened a plant in Bolivar in 1988, and the warehouse purchase and rigging facility comprise an expansion plan that is expected to create up to 250 new full-time jobs when the operation reaches full production, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting.
Element Springfield South opened; Outlaw Gentlemen Barbershop added a second location; and wellness studio Stretch Zone launched.
