Project description: The corner of North Main Street and Tracker Road in Nixa is abuzz with development activity, and the latest structure to emerge is the Walker Heights Retail Center. The shopping plaza is designed with five tenant spaces, each measuring 1,625 square feet, for general retail, restaurants and service-related businesses, according to project manager Brendan Butler of Morelock Builders. Wayne Morelock, president and owner of Morelock Builders, is also the managing member of Walker Heights LLC, which is developing the plaza. The center will include 45 parking spots. The Walker Heights apartment complex, a set of three buildings with 95 apartment units, is going in at the same intersection. Nixa’s population is on the rise, increasing by 3.65% in the 2010s.
