Project description: The Durham Co. is expanding in Buffalo with a 45,000-square-foot plant that will employ more than 50 workers to manufacture electrical utility distribution equipment. The company, founded in 1959 and headquartered in Lebanon, also has facilities in Houston and Springfield. According to its website, the company offers electric metering products for residential and commercial properties. It also has a line of underground electrical distribution equipment. In announcing the project in 2021, the company credited the Missouri Works incentive tool for helping it to expand. That program through the state Department of Economic Development provides access to capital through withholdings or tax credits for job creation. Durham selected a Buffalo company, Hostetler Sales & Construction, to design a custom 200-foot, clear-space steel truss system building. A third-generation company, Hostetler has been manufacturing steel-frame buildings since 1966.
Utah-based gourmet cookie chain Crumbl Cookies opened its first Springfield shop; interior design business Branson Upstaging LLC relocated; and Lauren Ashley Dance Center LLC added a second location.
