Project description: Mexican eatery Taco Habitat has popped up quickly in the Glenstone Marketplace. That’s because the building – made of recycled shipping containers – was constructed in North Carolina by Boxman Studios, which also served as architect and project engineer, said Taco Habitat owner Michael Felts. Springfield-based J Peryer Construction Management laid the groundwork for the $2 million project before the containers arrived, Felts said. Expected to open next month, the Taco Habitat menu includes tacos, burritos, salads and burrito bowls, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting. The design features rooftop and ground-floor patios. Crews recently broke ground on a second Taco Habitat, in Branson, and Felts expects it to open in early 2020.
Utah-based gourmet cookie chain Crumbl Cookies opened its first Springfield shop; interior design business Branson Upstaging LLC relocated; and Lauren Ashley Dance Center LLC added a second location.
