Project description: Shelter Mutual Insurance is relocating its field office to far South National Avenue. Jay MacLellan, Shelter’s director of public relations and corporate training, said the operations has outgrown its current space at 3110 S. Delaware Ave. MacLellan said the new building has 40 offices, four conference rooms and a training room. The staff handles administrative work, such as insurance claims, and training sessions. Chris Carson, president of general contractor Carson-Mitchell Inc., said the training room doubles as a storm shelter capable of withstanding an EF-4 tornado. He said the building also will have an HVAC system designed to mitigate the spread of airborne bacteria and viruses.
The Republic School District is on track to open its Intermediate School for fifth- and sixth-grade students for the 2025-26 academic year.
