Project description: This addition by Select Brands is the sixth the company has made to its original building, the last occurring in 2015. The current expansion includes a 20,000-square-foot warehouse and a 2,500-square-foot office, according to Rand Youngblood, project manager with Rich Kramer Construction. The Select Brands website notes the company is part of a fast-growing segment of the food industry: flexible dry and retort packaging – basically, shelf-stable food products in pouches that are typically made from a laminate of flexible plastic and metal foils. Select Brands makes both standup and large spouted packages and specializes in ancient grains, with certifications by the Food and Drug Administration, U.S. Department of Agriculture and Safe Quality Food Level 3. It also meets standards to handle organic products and non-genetically modified organisms. Select Brands offers contract manufacturing, private labeling and food services packaging, according to its website. The company, founded in 2004, is owned by John Weidner.
