Project description: A three-story apartment building is close to completion near the corner of Scenic Avenue and Delmar Street. The building will have 60 units – 40 two-bedroom and 20 one-bedroom – plus common areas, all designed for independent living residents ages 55 and older, according to Fairway Management Inc., which maintains a rental website for the property. Common areas will include a community room with fireplace, kitchen, computer stations, sitting area and a fitness room. Scenic Meadows is partially funded with tax credits through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, which provides tax credits toward the construction of rental housing for lower-income households, according to the HUD website. The project also received financing through the Missouri Housing Development Commission, according to its website. Fairway Management Inc. is not yet accepting lease requests and rental rates have not yet been released.
