Project description: A Bolivar-based Sonic franchisee, Excel SDI Group, is moving its headquarters to East Cherry Street near U.S. Highway 65. The design calls for 5,575 square feet of warehousing space, which company president Brent Johnson said would be used to store overflow materials from his son’s automotive business, ST Motorsports. Excel SDI Group operates 12 Sonic drive-thrus in Missouri, including the towns of Ozark, Nixa and Bolivar, and one in Kansas, Johnson said. The office is the first of three projects planned along East Cherry to break ground this year, with a dog park dubbed Bark Yard and a mixed-use apartment complex in the pipeline within a few blocks of the developing office.
