Project description: Construction on CoxHealth's new hospital in Monett is on track to open to patients in early 2021, said CoxHealth spokesperson Kaitlyn McConnell. Design plans for the 75,000-square-foot hospital call for an expanded emergency department, multiple operating rooms and labor and delivery. Attached is a 27,000-square-foot medical office building housing 48 exam rooms and physician clinics, said McConnell. The CoxHealth Foundation raised roughly $7 million of the $42 million cost through a fundraising campaign started last year. CoxHealth is moving from 801 Lincoln Ave. in Monett, and officials said plans for that building were not finalized by press time.
Connected to Watkins Elementary School is a new storm shelter now under construction.
