Project details: A 511-space parking garage is rising at Cox Medical Center South. The five-level garage will provide employee parking with a skybridge connection to the Wheeler Heart and Vascular Center, an outpatient facility for diagnostic and minimally invasive cardiac and vascular care. Aesthetically, the design of the garage will match the Wheeler building, according to Rod Schaffer, vice president of facilities management for CoxHealth, with a dark brick color to complement the exterior of the existing building. The garage is being built at the site of a former parking lot. The additional dedicated employee parking is expected to make room for more patient and visitor access in an existing garage between the Wheeler building and the Hulston Cancer Center to its south.
On Oct. 27, Convoy of Hope dedicated its new 250,000-square-foot distribution center and broke ground on its next project: a 200,000-square-foot headquarters and training center, which will be connected to the distribution center by a skywalk.
