Project description: The first phase of the Christian County Government Plaza project is rising on the 39-acre parcel purchased by the county in 2020. According to past Springfield Business Journal reporting, this phase includes buildings for the county’s operational staff, recycling center, maintenance and storage, with development of some outdoor amenities, while a future phase will include a centerpiece structure to house offices of elected officials. The plan, according to past remarks to SBJ by Todd Wiesehan, the county’s resource management director, is to move forward in stages without financing any new long-term debt.
April 7 was the official opening day for Mexican-Italian fusion restaurant Show Me Chuy after a soft launch that started March 31; marketing agency AdZen debuted; and the Almighty Sando Shop opened a brick-and-mortar space.
