Project description: A new express car wash and six renovated self-serve bays are under development for Blue Iguana Car Wash’s fourth Springfield location, south of Republic Road on Fremont Avenue. The location was formerly operated as Ye Olde Buggy Bath Self Service & Automatic Car Wash. Two more Blue Iguana stores, at 1137 W. Kearney St. and 2118 E. Kearney St., are underway, with more locations planned. Along with the introduction of a new tunnel wash, the self-serve bays will be fitted with new equipment, according to Robin Byler, who co-owns Blue Iguana LLC. Her husband, Greg Byler, was an independent consultant for car washes and oil-change shops in the United States and Canada before opening his own chain in 2013, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting. Blue Iguana offers club memberships for unlimited washes, plus free use of vacuums.
