YOUR BUSINESS AUTHORITY
Springfield, MO
A month after her exit from the Home Builders Association of Greater Springfield, Charlyce Ruth has a new role with Associated General Contractors of Missouri.
Ruth is in charge of starting a Springfield office for AGCMO, for which she was hired as district representative for southwest Missouri, according to a news release. The statewide construction industry advocacy organization has more than 500 members in the commercial, industrial, heavy and highway fields.
"We saw her departure from the HBA as the perfect opportunity for us," AGCMO President Leonard Toenjes said in the release. "Her experience in workforce development and recruitment through the (Build My Future) and other events is a perfect match with our strategic priorities.”
At the HBA, Ruth acted as fiscal agent for Build My Future, a one-day interactive construction career day for high school students.
The HBA Board of Directors last month voted to remove Ruth from her six-year position as CEO. She worked for the HBA for nearly 21 years, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting. HBA board President Travis Miller previously told SBJ the decision was made “to explore new avenues” and pursue “fresher ideas.” He's currently serving as acting CEO, with a search process planned in the future for Ruth's successor.
Ruth joined AGCMO on July 1 and is currently working to find an office in Springfield, adding to the group's locations in Jefferson City and St. Louis.
"I’m looking forward to this new opportunity to continue to serve the construction industry in Springfield," she said in the release. "I now have a chance to help heavy, highway and infrastructure contractors continue to build a great quality of life in Southwest Missouri.”
The Republic School District is on track to open its Intermediate School for fifth- and sixth-grade students for the 2025-26 academic year.
