An annual Forbes list named Springfield companies BKD LLP and KPM CPAs & Advisors among the best U.S. accounting firms.
Forbes partnered with market research company Statista to study survey responses from certified public accountants, enrolled agents, tax lawyers, accountants and chief financial officers on the best accounting firms to recommend to clients. The final list comprises 223 firms, with five in Missouri.
BKD and KPM are the only southwest Missouri firms on the list, which is unranked. Both BKD and KPM are recommended in the areas of tax preparation and accounting.
"It’s always gratifying to be nationally recognized for the work we do for our clients, but even more so when the recognition comes from our peers across the industry,” BKD CEO Tom Watson said in a news release.
On the Forbes list, St. Louis-based Anders CPAs and Advisors and RubinBrown and Kansas City-based H&R Block were the other Missouri companies named.
Alair Springfield is first Missouri franchise for Canada-based company.
