Drury University scheduled a groundbreaking ceremony this month for the $27 million new home of the Breech School of Business Administration.
The three-story, 56,700-square-foot Enterprise Center represents the first new academic building for Drury in two decades, according to a news release. The building's naming donor is slated to be revealed at the Oct. 29 ceremony.
"The Enterprise Center is wonderful and tangible proof of Drury’s current momentum," said President Tim Cloyd, in the release.
Nabholz Corp. is general contractor for the project designed by New York City-based Cooper Robertson & Partners LLP and St. Louis-based Trivers Associates Inc.
In addition to the Breech School of Business Administration, the Enterprise Center will house Drury’s department of political science and international affairs; connect to a 10,500-square-foot conference center and event space called the Center for Executive Education; and offer a cafe open to the public, among other features, according to the release.
The project site is located at the southeast corner of Drury Lane and Central Street. It replaces surface parking.
The Enterprise Center is part of the college’s 25-year master plan, according to past reporting.
Utah-based gourmet cookie chain Crumbl Cookies opened its first Springfield shop; interior design business Branson Upstaging LLC relocated; and Lauren Ashley Dance Center LLC added a second location.
