The Doula Foundation hired a new executive director who’s scheduled to start next week.
Effective Jan. 25, Kyla Bentley will take the helm of the 15-year-old nonprofit that assists mothers and families throughout the child-birthing process in the Greene County area. She succeeds Faith Giedd, who
exited the position Dec. 31 to pursue other opportunities, according to a news release. Giedd, whose
LinkedIn and Facebook pages do not list a new job, worked at the foundation for nearly four years.
“I can’t think of a more rewarding experience than providing education, resources and support to a family during a time they need it most, when they welcome a new child,” Bentley said in the release.
Prior to joining the foundation, Bentley worked for Ozarks Regional YMCA, most recently as senior program director, since 2006. Working at the organization’s downtown location, Bentley is said to have grown its aquatics and arts programs.
In April 2015, she started as marketing and office manager for the downtown Brick Slice House restaurant, her husband and family’s business, according to the release.
She also has experience with the American Red Cross, for which she was an instructor training others to teach CPR and how to use an automated external defibrillator, as well as first aid.
