DeSantis’ board says Disney stripped them of power

Board members selected by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to oversee governance of Walt Disney World's special taxation district say they were stripped of power before they even started.

Their Disney-controlled predecessors last month passed restrictive covenants stripping the new board of many of its powers, according to The Associated Press.

DeSantis and the Florida legislature made the move in retaliation for Disney opposing the state's “Don’t Say Gay” legislation.
