David Strong, vice president and chief financial officer at Cox Medical Center Branson, has died, the health care system announced.
His obituary on the Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home & Crematory website does not list a cause of death. Strong, 60, died July 23.
William Mahoney, president of Cox Medical Center Branson, said in a provided statement that Strong was a friend who he knew first at Skaggs Regional Medical Center, which merged into CoxHealth in 2012.
“He was my first hire after I became CEO at Skaggs hospital, and he was a critical component of our financial turnaround,” Mahoney said in the statement. “He was also heavily involved in our successful affiliation with CoxHealth. David had a deep knowledge of revenue cycle and was extremely respected in our field.”
A certified health care financial professional and a certified public accountant, Strong also was on the boards of the Boys and Girls Club and the Skaggs Foundation, according to the statement.
Utah-based gourmet cookie chain Crumbl Cookies opened its first Springfield shop; interior design business Branson Upstaging LLC relocated; and Lauren Ashley Dance Center LLC added a second location.
