CoxHealth entered a merger deal with a Springfield surgical center.
Crighton Olive Dunn Surgical Group Inc. on Nov. 1 is scheduled to be consolidated into the health care system and take on the CoxHealth Vein Center name, according to a news release. CoxHealth spokesperson Kaitlyn McConnell said terms of the deal are undisclosed.
“Crighton Olive Dunn has a significant legacy in southwest Missouri, and we are honored to be joining forces with them,” said Bob Ferguson, vice president of Ferrell-Duncan Clinic at CoxHealth, in the release. “We believe that this transition will offer great benefits for our patients, including easier access and treatment.”
McConnell said Crighton Olive Dunn's physicians would become CoxHealth employees through the agreement. About 25 people would work out of Crighton Olive Dunn's surgical center at 1230 E. Kingsley St., Ste. C, when the deal is finalized, she said.
Among them will be CoxHealth vascular services team members who currently work at Wheeler Heart and Vascular Center, according to the release. The CoxHealth Vein Center will offer outpatient procedures such as sclerotherapy, as well as general surgery and diagnostic imaging.
“This is a very exciting evolution for Crighton Olive Dunn, and we feel it’s the right time to make such a transition,” said Dr. Charles Dunn with Crighton Olive Dunn, in the release. “We look forward to continuing to provide care for our patients’ surgical and vascular needs through this integration.”
Utah-based gourmet cookie chain Crumbl Cookies opened its first Springfield shop; interior design business Branson Upstaging LLC relocated; and Lauren Ashley Dance Center LLC added a second location.
