CoxHealth makes high-level promotion

Posted online

CoxHealth has a new high-level executive following another leadership promotion last year.

Ashley Casad, vice president of clinical services, was named president of Springfield hospitals and senior vice president of system operations, according to a news release. The promotion is effective Jan. 30.

In the role, Casad succeeds Amanda Hedgpeth, who was appointed chief operating officer in December, according to past reporting.

"Throughout the pandemic and beyond, Ashley has demonstrated an extraordinary work ethic and passion for creating positive change for her hospital and community," Hedgpeth said in the release. "Ashley is a remarkable leader who brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to this role."

Casad, who previously worked five years with Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, at CoxHealth served as deputy incident commander for the health care system's COVID-19 planning and response. She's credited with building CoxHealth's COVID-19 census projection model, securing equipment for testing and portable imaging, developing a monoclonal antibody infusion center and leading vaccination efforts.
