CoxHealth entered a partnership with North Arkansas Regional Medical Center to expand health care access in the north-central area of the Natural State.

The Springfield-based health care organization and NARMC plan to jointly open a medical center in Harrison, Arkansas, according to a news release. Harrison is the headquarters city for NARMC.

"This relationship will provide patients in our region specialty care without the need for travel," said Vince Leist, president and CEO of NARMC, in the release. "Our common goal is to strengthen the sustainability of our hospital and the provision of quality care in our region."

The health center will be located in a former Bear State Bank building that NARMC purchased at 1401 Highway 65 North in Harrison. CoxHealth is managing the renovations of the building into a medical center.

The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed in the release, and a spokesperson could not be reached immediately for comment by deadline. A variety of physician practices from both health systems would be housed at the center, and officials are determining what specialties to offer.

The medical center is slated to open by fall 2021, according to the release.

CoxHealth Center Harrison, which opened in August 2020, is slated to relocate to the new space when it opens next year.

NARMC has a hospital in Harrison, as well as 13 clinics. It has over 850 employees, according to its website.
