Republic Ford Lincoln is under new ownership.
Jeff McConville, operating partner of Corwin Automotive Group's Springfield-area operations, confirmed via email the company purchased Republic Ford on Dec. 6. The financial terms of the deal were undisclosed.
The dealership, at 1740 U.S. Highway 60 in Republic, has been renamed Corwin Ford Lincoln Republic, McConville said. Roughly 80 of the dealership's 90 employees have stayed on board, he added.
Former Republic Ford owners Bob and Susan Beine announced Dec. 3 in a Facebook post that they were exiting the automobile business. They've owned the dealership since 1984.
"The time has come for Susan and I to refresh and move to a new phase of our lives," Bob Beine said in the video post.
The news marks the second major dealership ownership change in as many weeks.
